We enjoyed being outside of the city but also not far away. It was perfect for our family of 6. We also found Goodstays very pleasant to work with. The bond was refunded but not the incidental charges like linen which would not have been used as we never went there I would never be using a system that takes the full amount as a deposit ever again.
Its dumb frankly. Theres better systems out there and you should try and rethink your policy. Firstly, I am sorry to hear of your health issues, I hope that these are swiftly resolved. In terms of your reservation, the cancellation policy is clearly stated in our terms and conditions upon booking and we are bound to protect the interests of our property owners. It is unfortunate when a guest has to cancel, and Goodstays is always more than happy to assist you in any insurance claims you may wish to stake.

Called the property manager who was not very pleasant and quite rude, and told me "this is all in your compendium" which it isn't, there is nothing in the compendium about hot water!

Told me on 1st call that it was gas hot water on bottles, and I needed to change to the 2nd bottle. Called him back as unable to rectify, he told me he wasn't sending anyone out, and to pour some "hot water" on the tap valve to help open it. When this didn't work and I realised both gas bottles were completely empty, I tried to call back, the phone had been put off the hook unable to get through so called the emergency assistance number which was the same person!
I explained both gas bottles were empty, it was clear no-one had checked them recently, so he told me to hook up the gas bottle from the BBQ, which also ran out promptly within 3 minutes of hot water! No follow-up call at all, lucky it was our last night as no hot water in Queenstown in winter is not fun! Only allowed to fill two garbage bags for our 7-night stay in a family 3 bedroom house, otherwise charged extra fees! I've never come across such treatment for guests, particularly when paying this much per night.

We apologise for the manner in which your call regarding the gas was handled - the property manager you dealt with no longer works for Goodstays. We aim to take calls to our team and our emergency line professionally and promptly. It is also now our policy to check the gas bottles with every departure inspection completed to avoid running out mid-stay.
Generally, the two black bags provided are sufficient for most stays, however due to feedback such as yours, we are presently reviewing our waste management system. Considering that on the day of your departure our team had to clean 6 properties, a late checkout of 12pm cuts the amount of time housekeeping have to get to the property and clean it within their scheduled hours, and often additional hours will be required to complete the exit clean to an acceptable standard for a 3 bedroom property such as Amberley Retreat; the extra fee covers the overtime and administration required to operate as a business.

Wine tasting, excellent restaurants, whitewater rafting, jet boating, hiking. Barbecue also provided opportunity to cook good meals at home.

Beautiful location with everything that we needed!! Loved waking up to the view every morning and sitting in front of the fire place watching movies at night :. This accommodation exceeded our expectations. Waking up to see the sun touching the tip of Coronet Peak was magical.
