When you leave the property during your stay, your pet must leave with you. At Earthstead we have an exercise area for pets. Please have your pet under your control at all times while in the exercise area.
Pets must not roam the property unaccompanied for their own safety and for the welfare of our cows, pigs and chickens. We use slug and snail bait from time to time so please do not allow your dog to enter any of the gardens on our property. Any damage or soiling caused by your pet must be paid for. Alistair also makes delicious cheese, yoghurt and butter, making good use of the rich raw milk from the cows. Our chickens provide delicious free range eggs for our guests during the warmer months. We are close to many of the most beautiful places in New Zealand including Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves each 40min drive.

Availability
It is decorated with some of the owners' prized and personal possessions, giving it a warm homey feel rather than a generic commercial space. It's in a quiet rural location but only 5 minutes drive into town. It was lovely to be able to have our dog with us. Unfortunately in NZ, most places that allow pets are not the type of place you would want to stay. Earthstead is a rare exception.
